Coverage You Can Count On!

A friend of mine asked me to make these for the Christmas party at the local TV station. Hopefully they were a hit.

A Smurf Walks Into a Bar

A Smurf joke that doesn't involve an exploding gift box.

Maggot

This is Rux's partner in crime, or... bounty hunting... or whatever awesome space-age apocalyptic future thing it is they do.

Zedbaron Rux

This is Zedbaron Rux, the main character in my twisted little sci-fi retelling of a very popular children cartoon from the 80's.

May The Triforce Be With You

So I got out the Super Nintendo and have been playing some "Link to the Past" recently. And while it is one of the greatest Zelda games, it raises a few questions.

Why is Link's hair pink?
Why does he appear to be wearing a poncho?
And why do all of the stones have the number 8 on them?

And I know it's a video game, but is it really necessary to kill all of the guards? Zelda says they're all under an evil spell. Do they really have to die, Link?!? Do they really have to DIE?!?

Hyrule will be home to many fatherless children thanks to you, Link. You Pegasus Boot-wearing Murderer!

Even Super Friends Need Some Down Time

Here's another blast from the past. I have absolutely NO idea what's supposed to have happened in this thing.

Fun stuff.

Cheepers?!?

I made these commercials for the city a couple of years ago. It's not quite Miyazaki... but I'm still proud.

My friend Sean Sanford did the awesome music track.

From Zero to AWESOME!

Wow! It's been a while since I've done the whole blog thang. Now that summer's slowing down I hope to get some more work up here.

In the meantime, here's me as I would appear in Disney/Pixar's Cars.

Meet Hampers

Who wouldn't want to be friends with this little guy? Am I right?

Twix and Beelzebub

I'm trying to cut back on the amount of fan art and start designing more original characters. So, this is sort of a step in that direction.

Anyone who can guess who these guys are LOOSELY based on wins a cupie doll.*

*"Cupie doll" is just a figure of speech. Winner receives nothing more than the joy of winning.

Marsupilami

I was never really super psyched to watch this guy on Saturday mornings... but he is fun to draw.

Penguin Suits - Wave 1

There's really no way to set this up.
So... enjoy.

Disney Afternoon Sketch Cards

Here is an attempt to refine my style by getting back to basics. No photoshop. No Illustrator. Just me and my prisma colors. Very humbling.

And what better way to get back to basics than with the characters that inspired me to draw in the first place.

Something For The Sake Of Posting

It's been a REALLY busy week, but I thought I'd go ahead and post something. So, here's a few random things that I started but never got around to finishing... and probably never will.

And if that isn't a OPALESCENT setup, then I must not know what 'opalescent' means.

Apparently, Artoo is pretty hard to draw... or I got bored trying.

MY TOWN! At night. Drink it in.

A Gummi Bear was probably supposed to go in here.

I started this a long time ago for this epic Miyazaki-esque story idea that I had. There were supposed to be lots of flying cars and a floating generator thing around this artificial moon, but knowing me, I probably got wrapped up drawing Muppets instead.

Blog Postin' O' The Green

It's St. Patrick's Day! And to commemorate the occasion, here's a tribute to the Green Meanie we all know and love... The Wicked Witch of the West!

Incidentally, I'm wearing green underwear at the moment... but that has nothing to do with St. Patrick's Day.

The Life Aquatic

So my best friend, Matt wanted an obscure Mighty Mugg... and so I thought, "How about Internationally Renowned Oceanographer, Captain Steve Zissou?"

What would be the scientific purpose of making such a mugg?

A birthday.

"Can you hear the jack whales singing?"

Cats Don't Leap

Here is a quick sketch of the episode of "Quantum Leap" where Scott Bakula leaps into the cartoon cat and has to help all of the animals become movie stars.

...

...or was that "Cats Don't Dance"? I'm always getting them mixed up.

Always Two There Are

I decided that the Jedi master I drew a while back needed an apprentice.

The Georgia Tree Griffin

Here's some Florian Satzinger inspired character design.

Meet the Tree Griffin. Indigenous to the area of Savannah, Georgia and beloved mythical creature of young and old alike.

But not middle aged... They hate tree griffins.

Oooh look! There's one!

Little Known Fact: Tree griffins can run at a speed of 15 miles per hour. They can also bite your entire face off in under 3 seconds.

Standing Out

More Photoshop brushwork.

Here's a little tree that decided not to sell out and freeze like all the other trees did.
Way to fight the power, little tree. Way to fight the power.

Brian Regan T-Shirts

I was recently able to see comedian Brian Regan perform live... and it was AWESOME! So awesome that I decided to design t-shirts for some of his jokes.

If you've never heard of Brian Regan, then you NEED to check him out. He's hilarious. And besides, these shirts will make ZERO sense otherwise.

The Mighty Mighty Magnum

Here's another homemade Christmas gift we did. This one for my friend, and die hard Magnum P.I. fan, Jim.

Some of the paint may look a little bumpy, but considering this is handpainted and not airbrushed, I'm very much pleased.

Respect the 'stache!
